A storage shed forms the centre piece of this small garden in Thames Ditton; rather than trying to hide an ugly off-the-shelf shed in such a restricted space, the decision was made to make it the focus and to combine it with an arched pergola, to take advantage of an existing mature Wisteria, which was ready to ready to scramble over the structure. Riven (split stone which is cheaper than cut stone or porcelain) ‘Yellow’ limestone slabs give a slightly rustic edge to this overgrown room.
